The islanders convoyed down to Auckland, demonstrating unity in their shared belief in Christianity regardless of ethnicity, led by Destiny Church leader Brian Tamaki to "make New Zealand great again."
"My forefather didn't fight in WW2 for this country to be overrun by people of different religions from other countries," a young woman declared in her speech. "New Zealand was founded on the Treaty of Waitangi, bringing two peoples together—not five different countries, not 400 different countries or religions, but two peoples: Māori and European," she added, to the cheers of a crowd of thousands.
With a mere population of 5 million, New Zealand is far behind where Canada is today—whether in the scope of mass immigration, the erosion of public harmony, or the rise of censorship and hate speech laws. However, the protesters appear resolute in their position that they don't want to end up like the multicultural "heaven" of Canada, where the core identity of their nation is arguably lost.
