On the 923rd day of their remand custody, Justice David Labrenz is set to sentence the two Coutts protesters to over six years in jail (before reductions). The men were acquitted of conspiracy to murder police but were found guilty of other charges, including possession of a firearm for a dangerous purpose and mischief over $5,000.

"I don't feel the judge based his decisions on actual facts," said Betty Carbert, expressing her frustration after Justice David Labrenz sentenced the two men to 6.5 years (before reductions.)

"I also feel he based some of it on the charge that they were acquitted from," referring to the conspiracy to murder police charge.
